Two suspected thieves were killed and another was seriously wounded at the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission head office in Ministries Blocks, where they were allegedly trying to steal money from the finance office.

The armed robbers broke into the government compound, tied the watchman and attempted to break into the finance office, sources said.

A policeman who was on duty was reportedly hiding somewhere within the compound and responded to the incident after realizing strange movement in the compound, opening fire on the thieves. The incident occurred early in the morning Tuesday (today) at about 2:00 a.m.

“One of them died on the spot while the other died in hospital,” said a source who works for the government.

The injured was arrested and sent for medical treatment.
