The six review meetings between South Sudan and Sudan Joint Border Commission (JBC) were concluded on Thursday in Addis Ababa where the two sides signed documents for border demarcation.

According to the Sudanese News Agency SUNA, during the four-day meetings, the two countries agreed on the terms of reference, budget for demarcation and the work plan of the joint border commission.

Michael Makuei Lueth, South Sudan’s Minister of Information and Chairperson of the South Sudan Joint Border Commission, stated the South Sudan delegation signed all the documents endorsed in the meetings.

For his part, Alrasheed Harun Adam, head of the Sudan delegation, expressed their commitment to resolve the remaining issues in the next meeting of the joint commission which will be held in November this year.

The meetings between the two Sudans are facilitated by the African Union border program.
