Two Sudanese traders died in UNMISS base in Bentiu

At least two Sudanese traders sheltering inside the UN base in Bentiu have recently died and another 47 are wounded. Many of them were shot during the takeover of Bentiu by defected troops last month.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several traders in the UN camp said at least two wounded traders died last week and another 11 traders were amputated due to worsening health.

They noted about 47 traders currently living in the UNMISS compound in Bentiu were confirmed wounded during the fighting in the State.

Some traders complained that the health care inside the camp was inadequate, saying there were not enough health organizations working in the congested camp.

The government and rebels have been exchanging accusations over who is responsible for the killings of Sudanese traders in Unity State.
