Two senior SPLA officers have killed each other after exchanging fire in Mayendit County in South Sudan’s newly established Southern Liech state, a local official said.
Peter Makuoth Malual, the appointed information minister, told Radio Tamazuj that a fight erupted between a lieutenant colonel and a colonel who was serving in the SPLA Division 5 in Mayendit County.
He pointed out that the two SPLA officers opened fire on each other after a quarrel between them, saying the two SPLA soldiers died on the spot. The minister further said the reason for the fight is unclear up till now.
