Two South Sudanese farm workers killed in West Kordofan

Two farm workers from South Sudan have been killed in an attack by armed robbers in Al-Nahud Locality in Sudan’s West Kordofan State on Monday.

Two farm workers from South Sudan have been killed in an attack by armed robbers in Al-Nahud Locality in Sudan’s West Kordofan State on Monday.

The victims were identified as Awol Awol and his wife Achol Ajiek.

Omar Hamid, a local farmer in the area, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that the incident took place at Hamir al-Digel village when a group of five pastoralists attacked two farm workers in order to rob farms produce.

He pointed out that a Sudanese man was also killed by a stray bullet fired by the same armed group. He identified the deceased as Mohamed Eid.

Meanwhile, Al-Nahud Locality Commissioner Saleh Suleiman Al-Zain said suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident.

The local official condemned the incident which claimed the lives of two South Sudanese farm workers and a Sudanese man.
