Two reported dead in Blue Nile ambush

The Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) says that it ambushed troops of the Sudan Armed Forces between Weilang and Magenza areas about 50 kilometres south of Damazin town in Blue Nile State on Wednesday.

The rebel group’s spokesman Arnu Ngutulu Lodi yesterday claimed they inflicted heavy losses on the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and destroyed four trucks loaded with military equipments and food supplies.

He said they killed two SAF soldiers and wounded another, besides capturing Sergeant El Amin Abdullah of the 14th Davison.

Lodi admitted that two SPLA-N soldier were wounded during clashes. He pointed out that they later released the captive for humanitarian reasons.

Radio Tamazuj could not reach Sudan’s army spokesman El Sawarmi Khalid Saad to comment on Arnu’s claims.
