“Minor clashes” between refugees and police forces in Yusuf Batil camp in Maban County, Upper Nile, left two policemen wounded on Saturday.
The executive director of Maban County told Radio Tamazuj that the confrontation occurred when the police tried to disperse a quarrel between a refugee and his wife at the camp. He further said that those who “caused chaos were arrested.”
Omda Al Simat Tika, who was present during the incident, said that the refugees resisted police orders and took two guns from them. According to him the situation is now “calm” and the civil administration will intervene to solve the problem.
