At least two people were killed and four others injured in an attack by indentified gunmen in Samuah village in the east of Babanusa town in Sudan’s West Kordofan State on Wednesday night, a youth leader said.
Abu Obeida Mohammed Hamdan, a youth leader in the area, told Radio Tamazuj that the incident took place when they were in a football club and the perpetrators were seen riding a motorcycle.
He identified the two people killed as Mohamed Al Malieh and a local trader. Hamdan said the wounded people were taken to Al Fula Hospital for treatment.
Investigations are underway, Hamdan added.
Meanwhile, several local residents blamed the authorities for failing to arrest the killers in spite of the imposed emergency law.
Separately, Hamdan said that one person was killed and several injured in inter-communal clashes between Awlad Shibek and Awlad Arafa clans of the Misseriya tribe in Kharasana area.
