At least two people drowned when flooding and heavy rains hit Kadugli town in Sudan’s South Kordofan state on Friday.
Several citizens in Kadugli told Radio Tamazuj Sunday that the city had witnessed heavy rains that lasted for more than ten hours.
The incident took place when two persons on a motorcycle tried to cross into Hajar El Nar area, but the two men reportedly drowned instantly due to the ferocity of the current on the road.
The rains and overflow have caused damage and loss of property in various neighborhoods in Kadugli town, according to the local residents.
The affected people called on the authorities concerned to intervene in order to help them and cope with the natural disaster that affected the area.
