At least two people have died of diarrhoeal diseases on Tuesday in Um Jar area, located about 20 kilometres away from Kosti town in Sudan’s White Nile State, according to a medical source.

The same source told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that about 30 cases of diarrhoea were recorded in Um Jar area and its surrounding villages.

He pointed out that local residents have called for urgent intervention to control the outbreak, while accusing the state government of failing to do anything.
