Two people were shot dead yesterday by unknown gunmen during a daylight robbery at Seven Days roundabout near Hai Maona in Juba.
Sources said the two people on their way home from a bank and were followed by gunmen on at least one other motorbike. The victims ha reportedly withdrawn a large amount of money from the bank.
“They shot them dead, took a bag full of money and escaped,” said a source. One source said the shooting occurred at 4:00 p.m. and another said it happened at 6:00 p.m.
According to a Juba resident informed on the issue, the victims were two brothers working for Eagle Money transfer service, which is located near JIT Supermarket in Juba town. They had taken the money out with the intention of sending it to other locations today.
The source said one of the victims was shot in the head while the other was shot in the neck. A third man, their motorcycle driver, was injured and has been admitted to Juba Teaching Hospital.
