At least two people were killed in an attack carried out by gunmen in Twic Centre County of Jonglei State on Tuesday, a local official said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, the county commissioner, Louis Garang Apiu said the two men were escorting women who went into the bush to collect grasses for building when they met their death at Werawullen area near Wangule town.
“Those men died on the spot and the five women were left unhurt. The criminals only collected two guns and ran away,” he said.
The local official pointed out that the county is calm despite the incident.
