Two killed in Lakes, minister says

The Minister of Information in Lakes State says two people were killed and six others wounded in an attack in Rumbek Center County.

Dhieu Wol told Eye Radio that the attackers crossed from Panyijar County in Unity State. He blamed the SPLA-In Opposition for the attack, though the rebels' spokesperson Dickson Gatluak denied any involvement by his side.

Separately, a militia in Lakes' Awerial County recovered sixty cows that had been stolen earlier.

Awerial's Director for Criminal Investigation James Mayen Majur said armed men mobilized to take back the cattle after they were recently stolen. James reported no casualties but said the cows have been returned.
