At least two people were killed and one wounded during fighting between the Aniin and Niel-niel sections of Pakam community in Western Lakes State, police said.

The incident occurred in Jalla cattle camp on Thursday morning.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, the state police spokesperson, Elijah Mabor Makuac said clashes occurred after a dispute over a bull.

“Our state security sent by the government to the scene of clashes between the two sections confirmed that two were people killed while another person was wounded,” Mabor said.

The police officer pointed out that the wounded person had been taken to Rumbek Hospital for treatment. He said the situation is calm ever since security forces intervened.

Makuac added that the organized forces have been deployed to prevent any further clashes and misunderstandings.
