Gunmen abducted two Sudanese engineers in East Darfur on Monday, according to a report by the independent Radio Dabanga.

Gunmen abducted two Sudanese engineers in East Darfur on Monday, according to a report by the independent Radio Dabanga.

A relative of one of the victims told the station that an armed group ambushed the engineers when they were on their way from Ed Daein, capital of East Darfur to Khartoum.

“Gunmen intercepted them at gunpoint on the Abu Sufyan-El Fado road. They seized the engineers and their vehicle, and took them to an unknown destination.”

The engineers were identified as Khojali Yousef Hassan El Tom, engineer at the East Darfur State Ministry of Planning in Ed Daein, and Ahmed Hamed Dud, a contractor in the state.
