Local authorities in Wau town in South Sudan’s Wau State announced that they have detained two suspects in the killing of a presidential guard who was also working as a car driver and security guard for President Kiir's wife Mary Ayen.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, Bona Gudnisio, Wau Minister of Information, confirmed that two people including a woman suspected of playing a role in the killing of the presidential guard in Wau last week have been detained.

He pointed out that investigations are underway.

Separately, Minister Gudnisio said that the security officers have also arrested several suspects in connection with several criminal activities in Wau town.
