Two adults killed and two children injured in Abyei family dispute

Two adults were killed and two children injured yesterday in Ataj, Abyei following a family dispute, Radio Tamazuj has learned.

A witness from the area said that clashes began yesterday morning when a man opened fire on his wife, 27 year old Achol Jok, whom he suspected of committing adultery.  She died on the scene while the perpetrator proceeded to shoot his uncle, Akej Madut Bol, who was reportedly trying to calm the situation.

The attacker also wounded his two children aged 19 months and four years who have since been transferred to hospital for treatment.

Witnesses claim that the “neighbors attacked the murderer and stabbed him 12 times with a knife.”

The bodies have since been taken to a local police station.
