Twic official urges relocation of slaughterhouses

The Minister Animal Resources in South Sudan’s Twic State has called for relocation of slaughterhouses from towns to pave way for construction of new and modern slaughterhouses that will maintain hygiene.

Minister Ajuet Muon has directed all heads of butcheries to adhere to the order and relocate the slaughterhouses to rural areas. He further said the new slaughterhouses will maintain hygiene and sanitation.

In 2015, the people of Turalei payam raised concerns over the unhygienic conditions of the slaughterhouse in Turalei and called on local authorities to intervene.
