Authorities in Twic and Gogrial states are expected to meet today in Kuacjok town to discuss rising cattle raids between communities of the two neighbouring states.

On Wednesday, a delegation led by Twic State Governor Kon Manyiel Kuol left for Gogrial state to discuss cattle thefts, according to a local source.

The government delegation comprised of three county commissioners from Twic and a number of state parliamentarians.

According to the source, three suspects from Twic, Tonj and Aguok were recently arrested after being found in possession of stolen cows at Anyien Amoul area in Turalei County of Twic State.

Last week, one person was killed and another injured after an attack by unidentified gunmen on a cattle camp at Majok Noon village in Twic state.

Radio Tamazuj couldn’t reach the relevant authorities in Gogrial state to comment on the matter.
