An amount of 35,000 SSP was robbed when unknown gunmen attacked a truck driver along the Mundri-Maridi road in Western Equatoria State on Tuesday, a local official said.

An amount of 35,000 SSP was robbed when unknown gunmen attacked a truck driver along the Mundri-Maridi road in Western Equatoria State on Tuesday, a local official said.

 Benjamin Commander Dayos, the Secretary-General of the defunct Amadi State, told Radio Tamazuj that the incident took place in Merarire village located near Kotobi area.

He appealed to citizens to report all robbery incidents to enable authorities to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to book.

The local official said authorities have deployed personnel on the Mundri-Maridi road and set up a strategy to monitor passengers.
