Traders in Awerial County of Lakes State have complained about armed robbers along the Mingkaman-Juba road and too many illegal check-points.
Amakou Ngor Welken, a trader, said that unidentified armed men robbed him of 5,000 SSP over the weekend.
“I lost my 5,000 last week but am not sure exactly where these people come from and where they belong to but the incident happened in the territory of Terekeka County at certain check points of Mabil, Maraya and Tombek.”
Amakou said traders are also asked to pay money if they don’t have travelling documents before proceeding to Terekaka. The Executive Director of Awerial County Abenego Makooi Beech said they are not aware of the incident.
