Traders in Bor town of Jonglei State have decried failure by the relevant authorities of the main market to collect garbage in time, saying this has created uncomfortable environment in the market.
Several restaurant and clinic owners who preferred anonymity told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that they feel uncomfortable with rubbish scattered across the market.
They further said pungent stench emanating from uncollected rubbish dumped around their business places has caused low sales as customers keep off the market due to unpleasant smell.
They pointed out that the municipal officials continue to collect garbage money although they have failed to collect garbage.
John Makuei, director of public health at Bor municipality, said heavy rains had hampered the removal of garbage as the only garbage truck was stuck in the mud.
Makuei further said the truck is now ready to carry away the garbage.
