Traders at Amiet common market in the disputed region of Abyei have raised concerns over increased robbery cases.
Speaking on Abyei Today program this week, several traders said most of the robbery and theft incidents occur during night hours. Shop owners at the market urged police to protect their properties.
Yusuf Osman, a community police officer at the common market, said the theft and robbery rate was increasing at a suspicious rate.
Osman promised that they will increase patrols to prevent further theft incidents.
The Amiet common market was established to sustain peace between the Ngok Dinka and Misseriya tribes in the disputed area.
