A prominent trader who doubles as an executive chief was on Wednesday murdered in Yambio County in Western Equatoria State.

A prominent trader who doubles as an executive chief was on Wednesday murdered in Yambio County in Western Equatoria State. 

Justine Agbiamamu was murdered by yet-to-be-identified assailants while leaving his garden in Gangura Payam, Yambio County in the evening. 

Yambio County Commissioner Mbiko Baraki confirmed the incident and told Radio Tamazuj that security agencies are working hard to arrest and bring the killers to book. 

“There was a trader called Agbiamamu who is a chief in Yangiri but living and doing business here in Yambio who was killed,” he explained. “He went to the garden in Gangura Payam to collect groundnuts but he was fatally shot by unknown people.”

“He had three bullet wounds on his body, one of them from a pistol and the incident happened here in Yambio at around 6 pm (Wednesday).” Commissioner Baraki added.

He said the security situation in the county is calm and that the deceased will be taken to Yangiri Payam in Ezo County where he served as a chief for burial.
