Security forces have imposed restrictive measures on the movement of citizens from Habila going to Dilling in South Kordofan, Sudan.

Security forces have imposed restrictive measures on the movement of citizens from Habila going to Dilling in South Kordofan, Sudan.

Local authorities have banned the taking of fuel supply outside of Dilling town, in Dilling locality, and issued an instruction banning citizens from carrying foodstuffs more than 5 kilograms, a source explained.

Residents are outraged about what they term “arbitrary and provocative inspection of people going for shopping in Dilling town”. Two checkpoints are situated in the area of Tomat and Kubri Ardiba.

Kurtikella Boltang, a citizen from Habila, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that they were intercepted by the security forces while on their way to Dilling town, and inspected twice. “They inspect anybody in an exasperating way,” he said. “Even pregnant women are suspected of hiding guns or any harmful tools in their bellies.”

Citizens urged the civil administration to intervene in order to simplify the movement of citizens on the Habila-Dilling road.
