Flooding and heavy rains have hit Kadugli town in Sudan’s South Kordofan, affecting over 1,000 citizens, according to a joint report by humanitarian organizations in the state.
Last week, at least two people drowned when heavy rains that lasted for more than ten hours hit the town and caused damage and loss of property in various neighborhoods.
According to the joint report seen by Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, more than 1,000 local residents were displaced at Telo residential area in particular.
Aid workers pointed out that the affected families are in dire need of tarpaulins, blanket and mosquito nets as well as sanitation, saying aid assistance reached about 150 displaced people only while the rest are living in a desperate situation.
