The main road between greater Twic County and the state capital of South Sudan’s Jonglei State has been cut off by heavy rains and floods, affecting movements of vehicles and people in the area.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, Dau Akoi Jurkuch, the commissioner for Twic Centre County said heavy rains cut off the main road linking Bor town to Twic Centre, Kongor, Twic South, Twic North and Ajuong counties since last week.
“Areas in greater Twic are inaccessible due to floods. Now, trucks take more than two days to reach us in Twic, so our worry is that the prices of commodities may increase soon,” he said.
