The Abyei-Aniet road has been cut off by heavy rains and flooding, resulting in stoppage of transports in the contested area between Sudan and South Sudan, locals said.
Several Abyei natives told Radio Tamazuj Friday that people have to walk by foot for almost six hours because the road is unusable by vehicles.
They further said that it could endanger daily activities of many people in the coming days if urgent action is not taken to repair the road.
They called on the Abyei Area Administration to prioritize renovation of roads.
