Torit suspends road works with Uganda over land dispute

Authorities in Torit State have ordered suspension of a road construction at the road with neighboring Uganda over land dispute.

Torit governor Tololio Alberio Aromo told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that road construction between Ikotos and Uganda had been stopped following tension over land dispute.

The official pointed out that the road construction by the authorities in Uganda was illegal saying it was 10 kilometers deep inside the South Sudanese territory.

Governor noted that he talked to the relevant authorities in Uganda to suspend the construction of road until the issue is resolved.
