Lawmakers in South Sudan’s Torit state legislative assembly will break off for a three-month recess period on 7 November, the state parliamentary speaker said on Friday.
The speaker of the state assembly, Charles Odwar Ukech told Radio Tamazuj that the long-awaited break comes after the lawmakers successfully passed the bills required this session.
He pointed out that the lawmakers will disseminate the revitalized peace agreement to their respective constituencies during the recess.
The speaker commended all MPs for their hard work, adding the policy statement of various state ministries will be discussed in the next session. ‘’We manage to pass three bills and some resolutions as well,” he said.
