South Sudan’s Torit State council of ministers on Thursday resolved to work in partnership with MTN mobile network providers to re-activate the network in all counties to ease communication.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj after their meeting, Torit State minister of information Margret Idwa Okuye said the state has prioritized the revival of the mobile network in Pajok, Pogge, Oweny-kibul, Lopa/Lafon and Ikwoto counties.
Idwa further said that border areas like Oweny-Kibul has a booster but is not functional due to lack of fuel.
“One of the priorities because it touches my ministry and I have already marked out to them to be on air to easy the communication. The network communication helps connect people in grassroots and state government for easy service delivery,” she added.
The government official did not however reveal when the network will be operational.
Since the conflict in 2016, MTN network in the area has been off due to lack of fuel as well as insecurity.
