Torit State governor has welcomed the newly signed peace agreement between the government and opposition, saying there will be no obstacles in its implementation.
Governor Tobiolo Alberio Oromo who was addressing a public rally in honor of the Khartoum agreement on Tuesday also warned any individual or parties in his state who intend to hinder the successful implementation of the agreement to desist.
“We are not going to allow any individual in Torit state to play with this peace. We are fully committed for the implementation, what we are waiting; we are only waiting for the implementation matrix. If the implementation matrix are sent to the state, we will implement fully whatever our president has signed,’’ he explained.
“This is going to be a permanent peace, a lasting peace, a durable peace and nobody is going to violate this peace. In Torit state, if anybody is trying to violate this peace, we will call upon international community so that we follow exactly and establish who is trying to destroy this permanent peace,” Alberio added.
Governor Alberio further called for communal cooperation in order to reduce the rampant insecurity along the main roads to and from the state.
“We don’t want to return to conflict. Let us continue to cooperate as usual to make sure that in Torit state from today onwards we will not hear about any looting or robbery along Juba road or Kapoeta road. Any robbery will be traced to the villages and the community will be forced to apprehend the criminals,’’ he warned.
