Torit State Governor has warned security organs in the state against pointless firing of guns saying peace has come and it is high time they embark on development.

Governor Tobiolo Alberio Oromo speaking during the weekend said any anyone found guilty will pay a bull as fine for every bullet shot.

He said people are tired of the sound of guns which causes unnecessary fear among civilians.

“You fire one bullet whether it being in town or village, you pay with a bull. Because we don’t have the factory for those ammunitions here and why are you continuing to promote panic and trauma to the people," he warned.

“Peace has come to the country and it is time for us to embark on nation building. We must embark on enforcement of law and order. We need to enforce law and order, apprehend criminals and take them to book. Let them face justice and then we shall be ruled by the law. Every human being will be guided by the laws of the country,” Alberio added.

The governor was addressing the handover ceremony of the rehabilitated B-Court and provision of facilities at State Police Unit to the state government in Torit Municipality over the weekend.
