Torit State governor Tobiolo Alberio Oromo on Friday partially reshuffled his cabinet, removing and appointing some ministers, commission heads and top civil servants.

Oromo, in several decrees seen by Radio Tamazuj, appointed the former agriculture minister, Clement Laku Chichim as the new minister of health. Laku replaced Paska Hifita Oduho, who has served since 2017.

In June, MPs in the state assembly impeached the former agriculture minister after timber worth more than $100,000 mysteriously vanished.

Oromo removed Akile Maridi Cypriano, the state coordinator in the capital, Juba and appointed him as the new minister of agriculture.

Separately, the governor appointed Joseph Sebit Quarto as the new commissioner of the state revenue authority, replacing Charles Onen Lukwaru who was sacked for exposing corruption on timber trade.

Oromo also appointed Dominic Otwari Abondio as the chairperson of the state anti-corruption commission. He also appointed Stephen Ruffos Albert as Torit town deputy mayor for administration, replacing Celestino Muras.

Philiph Anthony Feros was appointed deputy mayor for land affairs.

The governor also appointed Wani Kute Joseph as director general in the information ministry. Wani succeeds Agaphito Lolikai Locho, now the deputy chair of fiscal planning, monitoring and evaluation.

Oromo gave no reasons for the new changes in his administration.
