Torit authorities seize cattle from two tribes in punitive move

Local authorities in Torit County in Eastern Equatoria State have seized about 226 cattle from the Loguruny and Lolanga tribes in a move to pressure them to return cattle that they allegedly raided from the Burung area in Ikotos County.

Local authorities in Torit County in Eastern Equatoria State have seized about 226 cattle from the Loguruny and Lolanga tribes in a move to pressure them to return cattle that they allegedly raided from the Burung area in Ikotos County.

In an interview with Radio Tamazuj, the Torit County Commissioner German Charles said that 746 cattle were stolen from the Burung. Only 94 of these were recovered so far (among the 226 seized). 

The commissioner noted that they will keep the cattle until they recover all the cattle of the Burung.
