For five days, operations at Torit airstrip were suspended due to potholes on the runway blamed on heavy rains last week.
Godfrey Loketo, the acting head of the civil aviation authority in the state, told Radio Tamazuj today that operations at the airstrip resumed yesterday following emergency repairs on the runway.
Loketo said the repair of the potholes has been completed and that operations have resumed officially.
“The airstrip is now clear, they have completed it,” he said.
The official called on the national government to continue supporting the civil aviation authority to ensure citizens’ safety.
