Leaders from the Toposa community from South Sudan and Turkana community from neighbouring Kenya met in Narus County of Torit State on Saturday in a bid to end longstanding conflict due to cattle rustling.

The two communities seek to share information leading to the arrest of cattle rustlers which is the main source of conflict between the two communities.

Narus County Commissioner Koten Thomas told Radio Tamazuj that the conference brought together 80 participants from both sides.

Separately, Commissioner Thomas said they found three children wandering in a road between Narus and Kapoeta on Tuesday.

He said that one child is called Mabor Malang Mangok from Rumbek and two brothers identified as Deng Bol Maker and Magak Bol Maker from Tonj state.

The local official pointed out that the three children, all under the age of 10, were trying to cross to Kenya.

Thomas appealed to the families of the three children to contact Narus County authorities, saying the children are currently living in Narus.
