A top Sudanese army commander was wounded after two tanks exploded at a military garrison in Heglig area in South Kordofan State on Saturday, multiple sources said.
The source told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the two tanks exploded under unclear circumstances, saying the incident resulted in the wounding of a commander with the rank of brigadier in the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).
They pointed out that the commander who sustained serious injuries was taken to Khartoum for treatment. The army has not yet issued any statement on the incident.
