Tonj South commissioner bans alcohol sales

The commissioner of Tonj South in South Sudan's Warrap has banned selling of alcohol in public places including hotels.

Joseph Mayom gave alcohol vendors one week from Monday to transport their goods out of the county. He said alcohol is harmful to citizen's health.

Mayom told Radio Tamazuj the decision doesn’t include locally made alcohol. The commissioner stressed that anyone who does not comply with this order will be jailed or fined.
