Residents in Tonj North County in South Sudan’s Warrap state are dissatisfied with the healthcare services in the area, saying there are not enough medicines.
The citizens also predict a worsening health situation during the coming rainy season as they face diseases such as malaria without treatment.
Albino Madut Akot, a doctor working in the county hospital, told Radio Tamazuj that the health facility is experiencing an acute shortage of medicines. He mentioned some cases of vomiting and bloody diarrhea.
He noted that the hospital has fallen short of providing good medical treatment to the patients, saying they are being referred to the neighbouring areas especially Wau.
The physician called on the health organizations and the other stakeholders to support the hospital with medicines.
