Tonj Mayor Joseph Anei Madoor has banned the sale of expired goods in the markets saying any traders caught dealing in expired goods will face the law.

This follows complains by residents that most traders are selling expired goods contrary to the laws

Speaking Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday Anei cautioned that traders found red handed will be subjected to rule of law and justice.

 “It remains our responsibility to make sure that we continue inspecting those expired goods once they are found then those caught selling have to be escorted to the police and then later escorted to face justice,” Maddor warned.

The local official revealed that a committee has been formed to investigate the sale of expired goods.
