Tonj governor sacks his deputy, appoints new ministers

The governor of South Sudan’s Tonj state has removed his deputy from his duties and replaced him with a new official.

The governor of South Sudan’s Tonj state has removed his deputy from his duties and replaced him with a new official.

Governor Anthony Bol Madut, according to the order which became public on Saturday, removed Manhiem Bol and replaced him with Marial Abur, a police general.

The top state official also issued another order removing ministers and appointing their successors.

Education minister Deng Mayom Akeen was replaced with Deng Deng Wek as the new minister of education.

Lino Majok Achien was named the new minister of physical infrastructure, and William Deng Nhial was appointed as the new minister of agriculture while Manyang Agor was appointed as the new minister of local government. Other ministers include James Ayek as the new information minister.

No reasons were given for changes.
