The governor of South Sudan’s Tonj State has issued an executive order appointing former political adviser after removing him from the same position.

The governor of South Sudan’s Tonj State has issued an executive order appointing former political adviser after removing him from the same position.

Governor Anthony Bol Madut, according to the order which became public on Monday, appointed Yol Mayar as the political adviser, reinstating him to his previous position.

Yol was appointed as the secretary of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation (SPLM) in the state by the former governor Akec Tong Aleu but was later removed from his position through a gubernatorial order by the incumbent governor.

Yol confirmed to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday his appointment by governor Bol, expressing thanks and appreciation for his return to the office.

“I have been reinstated to my position and because of this, I want to give special thanks to Cde. Governor, Gen. Anthony Boldit, for reinstating me back to my position as Political Adviser to the State Government. I also thank the national leadership of the SPLM under the chairmanship of H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit and Cde. Nunu Kumba,” Yol said.
