Members of the Peace and Reconciliation in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) arrived in Yambio, the Western Equatoria State capital, on Monday for the assessment of two Bills.
Speaking to the media on arrival, the Team Leader, Rebecca Aluel Mayor, who is the TNLA Deputy Chairperson for Peace and Reconciliation, said they were in the state not only for the reconciliation in Tambura, but as part of a countrywide mission including to Bahr el-Ghazal and Upper Nile.
Mayor called on the people of Western Equatoria to live in peace and love.
“We are here for consultation and to collect views of the people on two Bills; the Commission for Truth, Reconciliation and Healing, and the Compensation and Repatriation,” she said,
The team was welcomed by Governor Alfred Futuyo Karaba, who gave a guarantee to ensure that they complete their work.
The team will be in Western Equatoria for one week.
