At least three suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent fighting between pastoralists and farmers in Jur River County in Wau State, a local official said.
Last month, violent clashes erupted between herders from Tonj and local farmers in Jur River County where at least nine people were killed from both sides. A joint committee between the two states was formed to investigate the incident.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Barjok Osok, Kwajina County Commissioner in Wau State, said two chiefs and another man from Nyangokoi area in Tonj State were arrested earlier this month. He pointed out that the three people were accused of inciting violence in Jur River County.
“We have managed to arrest two chiefs, Majok Achuil and Ajing Madut, there is another man who was also accused of killing some children, and all of them hail from Pagol County.
