Three sentenced to 10 years for smuggling food into South Sudan

A court headed by judge Hamad Saadallah Abdullah has sentenced three men to 10 years each in prison for ‘smuggling food to a South Sudanese prison’. The three men Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Hussein, Mustafa Hussein and Muhammed Dahi will also be fined 5,000 Sudanese pounds. Police confiscated a lorry contained food at Tawari, in the border area between Sudan and South Sudan. The court said the law applied was that of the state of emergency declared by Sudan in the border regions.
