At least three people were killed in an attack on a vehicle carrying four passengers by an unknown armed group in Kwarjina County in Wau State on Sunday.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Kwarjina County commissioner Barjuk Uchu said the attack took place at Jebel Teak along the Tonj-Wau road.
“The rebel forces attacked people on the road and killed three people including the driver and the conductor, and one of the passengers. There was a lady who was traveling from Wau to Yirol, she was not hurt, she was sent to her family,” said Uchu.
The local official pointed out that the dead bodies were taken to Wau Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.
Uchu accused the opposition forces in Western Bahr al Ghazal of involvement in the attack. He added that the government forces were deployed to the area to restore security.
