Three killed in incidents in Wau including Sudanese national

At least three different shooting incidents on Wednesday evening in Wau town of South Sudan's Western Bahr el Ghazal State left dead three people, including a South Sudanese civilian, a Sudanese national from the Darfur region, and a prison officer who works in Bongo Bagari area.

Governor Elias Waya confirmed these incidents and identified the prison officer as Deng Ngor, saying he was shot dead by unidentified gunmen when he was going to his workplace in Bongo Bagari in Wau County, while the Sudanese national was killed when he was going to Busari.

Waya said two pastoralists have been arrested in connection with the incidents.

The governor revealed that at least 12 citizens were killed last week in different incidents, saying his government has taken strong measures to protect the citizens.
