More than 3,000 families in South Sudan’s Boma State are in dire humanitarian condition due to inter-communal clashes that erupted in the area recently, according to a local official.
The clashes resulted in the killing of five people including a child and a woman and displacement of the whole local population from their villages.
Commissioner of Jebel Boma County, Kudumoj Nakurnu told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that more than 3,000 families have been displaced due to the clashes between Murle and Jie tribes in Jebel Boma last week.
He pointed to the absence of humanitarian organizations to help the victims of the conflict. The commissioner called on humanitarian organization to provide assistance to those affected by these clashes.
