Thieves raided Torit Health Science Institute last week and stole several items, the principal disclosed.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Tuesday, Magezi Tobias Omal said they reported the matter to police after discovering it on Friday morning.

He, however, said they could not assess the stolen items.

“Last Friday, when we came to school at around 10am for our daily activities, we found the store door as well for the kitchen open. When we asked around, the night watchman was surprisingly not there. Some of our belongings were lying along the fence,” he said.

The principal said a drum, basin, the cooking utensils, a kettle and plates were missing from the kitchen. The store, he said, was missing 38 reams of paper, 4 pink bed sheets and blankets while the finance section reported a missing stapler and a computer power controller.

The incident, Omal said, was the first ever since the institute started in 2015, urging the health ministry to help them with a police force.

He called on the public to report any person selling the items listed.
